Do I need a doctor’s referral for chiropractic care?
Chiropractors are doctors and have the legislated right and obligation to communicate a diagnosis. You do not need a doctor’s note or prescription for chiropractic treatment. Chiropractic care can be effective as a primary treatment, or as an adjunct to other therapeutic interventions such as registered massage therapy and physiotherapy. It may also be recommended in the co-management of certain medical illnesses.
